Bacon Points

Realm of Elaphaea was created to be a community-centered game, and in order to help foster a positive and loving community, we wanted to have a system that would recognize and reward members who foster positive community spirit, create wonderful characters and stories, or are just genuinely kind and wonderful humans. The bacon point system was implemented in our group because we want to reward good deeds and general kindness. Bacon is meant to be given in secret! The purpose of bacon is to reward kindness with kindness, and is not meant as a method to farm for in-game rewards.

Additionally, members can receive bacon through the of-the-month awards that the group runs each month! Make sure you nominate each month as well for a salty treat for yourself! Check out the OTM page for more information.

Who can give bacon?

All members and mods are able to gift bacon to other members or mods who contribute and add onto the existence of this group. These are just some of the reasons you might want to give bacon to another player:

  • Being kind, sociable and friendly;
  • Using your characters in their stories and art;
  • RPing with others;
  • Making giftart for others;
  • Lending a hand to another member;
  • Helping new members get their bearings;
  • Giving great feedback, helpful comments or answering a question;
  • Doing something charitable for the community;
  • Gifting designs, breedings and art to other players;
  • Being very active with their characters;
  • Showing improvement and development with their writing, art and characters;
  • Generally being baconly.

Never publish bacon-giving, and never ask for bacon! People will give you bacon if you deserve it, not if you think you do!  Bacon is anonymous! Bacon is a gift! Bacon is altruistic!

How to Give Bacon:

If you think a player deserves a bacon point, follow this form to give some bacon! Staff keep track of bacon points privately to eliminate competition, and there are great rewards for players to choose from when they reach a certain milestone.

Rewards

When you reach a “Bacon Milestone”, you earn certain rewards! There are currently five bacon “tiers”, you will have the option of claiming a reward right then, or to save up your bacon for an even rarer reward!

Rewards are broken down into five categories: basic, uncommon, rare, ultra-rare and legendary. The lowest costing category is “basic” and each category above basic can have its cost calculated by the number of basic rewards it would take to purchase it. For example, an uncommon reward is the equivalent cost of two basic rewards, while an ultra-rare reward is the equivalent cost of four basic rewards.

Here is a breakdown of the cost of each category by basic rewards:

  • Basic
  • Uncommon (costs 2 basic rewards)
  • Rare (costs 3 basic rewards)
  • Ultra-rare (costs 4 basic rewards)
  • Legendary (costs 5 basic rewards)

Basic Rewards

Basic Custom Design

For yourself, or you can gift one to another player! Check out the Bacon & Token Designspricing sheet for what counts as a “Basic” design!

+20 Stat Points

Add+20 Stat Points to a character in TEA! Stat boosts may be applied to any single stat and may not be broken apart and applied to multiple stats.

+20 Championship Points

Add 20 Championship Points to your HARPG Phae’s total!

Note: CP bought with bacon does not count towards CP rewards! This purchase can be used to unlock a registered HARPG fawn’s designs for use in TEA or OCs by raising them to Novice Champion level. This can only be applied to a registered HARPG Phae with a reference accepted into the group.

+20 Universe Points

Add 20 Universe Points to your OC Phae’s total!

Note: UP bought with bacon does not count towards UP rewards! This purchase can be used to unlock a registered OC fawn’s designs for use in TEA or OCs by raising them to Craftsman level. This can only be applied to a registered OC Phae with a reference accepted into the group.

Basic Mutations

Basic mutations are genes that mutate from other genes present in the phae genome. For a bred fawn to be able to inherit one of these mutations, their parent must have the gene the mutation mutates and it must be purchased when the design is registered.

Winter Roan – a mutated form of roan (Rn), this gene replaces a Rn gene with RnW, creating the winter roan expression. If the RnW gene is present, it will always be expressed.

Wolf Sooty – a mutated form of sooty (Sty), this gene replaces a Sty gene with StyW, creating the wolf sooty expression. If the StyW gene is present, it will always be expressed.

Restricted Grey – a mutated form of grey (G), this gene replaces a G gene with GR, creating the restricted grey expression. If the GR gene is present, it will always be expressed.

Extended Dun – a mutated form of dun (D), this gene replaces a D gene with Dx, creating the extended dun expression. If the Dx gene is present, it will always be expressed.

Basic Carriers

Basic carriers can be applied at any time as long as they do not conflict with the genetics of any offspring the Phae has had.

Mushroom (nmu)

Leucism (nl)

Pedigree Pass

Gifting a bred pet to another owner without getting anything in return will require a basic purchase per offspring. You will need to name the player the pet goes to when noting the group, so the bred pet token can go straight to them. Please see the pets section of Elaphaea’s journals for more information on pets.

This reward only applies to the TEA RPG, not HARPG or OCs.

Design Reuse Unlock

Have a design that was deceased and doesn’t meet the requirements to unlock the design for free, but still wish to use it? Using Basic bacon can unlock the design back for use for TEA!

This reward only applies to the TEA RPG, not HARPG or OCs.

One Small Crafted Item [Basic – Medium Crafting]

With this unlock, players can purchase one small crafted item that requires basic or medium crafting to make for a character of their choice.

Uncommon Rewards

Uncommon Design For yourself, or you can gift one to another player! Check out the  Bacon & Token Designs pricing sheet for what counts as an “Uncommon” design.
Uncommon Mutations

Uncommon mutations are genes that appear randomly on a phae’s genome regardless of what the parents might have had (for a bred fawn). They do not mutate from other genes on the genome, and rather appear completely randomly. These can be added to bred fawn designs or applied directly to a bacon design. They must be purchased when the design is submitted for review.

Mushroom (mumu) – mushroom desaturates the base coat of any bay, wild bay, seal bay, or chestnut phae. It also causes desaturation of the eyes and desaturation and striping of the hooves.

Taffy (nT or TT) – taffy causes the skin to become a pale, peachy color, and may cause slight dilution of the coat around the underline, the hooves and the muzzle. Taffy also alters the color of the eyes and hooves.

Leucism (ll) – leucism lightens the coat without affecting the saturation of the coat. Leucism lightens both the eyes and the hooves when present.

Suppression (nS or SS) – suppression suppresses the expression of dilute genes in the phae genome. It does not affect hoof or eye color.

Melanism (nM or MM) – melanism darkens a phae’s coat color. It does not affect hoof or eye color.

Brindle – Brindle also falls under an uncommon mutation, though it is different from other uncommon mutations. Brindle does not have a gene linked to it, and rather is expressed as a mutation of the coat color. In order to display brindle, a phae must have either sooty, roan or grey present in their genome. The sooty gene creates a classic brindle expression, with striping and barring being darker than the base coat, while roan and grey create a reverse-brindle appearance, and the barring is lighter than the base coat. For a bred design to be eligible for brindle, it must inherit one of sooty, grey or roan from one of its parents. Brindle also works with Wolf-Sooty, Winter Roan, and Restricted Gray.

Uncommon Carriers

Uncommon carriers can be applied at any time as long as they do not conflict with the genetics of any offspring the Phae has had.

Pearl (nprl) – cannot be applied to a design with nCr or CrCr present, as it would change the appearance of the phae. It may not be added as a carrier to fawn designs to change the coat appearance.

Watermark (nwa)

Uncommon Trait  Use this reward to give a Phae (starter or in-game fawn) an Uncommon Trait including Uncommon Mane, Tails, and Ears. These purchases can be applied at any time to a design, but must be applied before a character is registered. These purchases are applied to the design, and once purchased, the trait can be used on any instance of the designs use (TEA, HARPG or OC). To see a full list of traits, check out the morphology page.
Uncommonly Tall

For new TEA or HARPG characters only – the character can grow to up to 14.2hh for starters, or +.2hh taller than the max between their parents for fawns! This purchase is applied to the design, and once purchased can be used on all instances of the design. This can only be used one per character! You cannot stack this purchase.

This reward only applies to the TEA RPG, not HARPG or OCs.

Breeders Bargain

Breeding a pet to trade them will require an uncommon purchase per offspring. You will then get a token number upon purchase and can trade it off to normal token trade terms. Please see the pets section of the Elaphaea journals for more information on pets.

This reward only applies to the TEA RPG, not HARPG or OCs.

These purchases are applied to the design, and once purchased, the trait can be used on any instance of the designs use (TEA, HARPG or OC). To see a full list of traits, check out the morphology page.
Rare Mutation

Rare mutations are coat mutations that appear randomly on a phae regardless of what the parents might have had (for a bred fawn). They do not mutate from other genes on the genome, and rather appear completely randomly. These can be added to bred fawn designs or bacon/token designs.

Albino – Albino causes the entire coat to turn white, with pink skin and red eyes. Albino will sit above every other gene including pie and fawn markings – including overriding chimera. There is no gene specifically linked to albinism.

Chimera – Chimera occurs when two embryos fuse in utero to create a blended coat appearance where two distinct coat colors are expressed. The two coat colors may be similar, but must be distinct enough to see a difference between the two different genotypes. There is no gene specifically linked to chimera.

Rare Carriers

Rare carriers can be applied at any time as long as they do not conflict with the genetics of any offspring the phae has had.

White Factor (nwf/npt or nlp or npt/nlp) – you do not have to take the pt or lp genes, but they are available if you wish. You may only accept the heterozygous form of one or both pt and lp genes.

Lilac (nchL) – cannot be applied to a ChCh design, but can be applied to a nCh design.

Freakishly Tall

Use this unlock to create a Phae in Dawnspire with the Regal Class status! For characters grandfathered in with the previous “princess” or “prince” status, this unlock is free with proof from their previous profiles.

Ultra-Rare Mutation

Ultra-rare mutations are genes that appear randomly on a phae’s genome and change their physical appearance. These can be added to bred fawn designs as long as the fawn meets each gene’s requirements.

Lilac (chLchL) – a mutated form of champagne, lilac replaces the Ch gene with chL. Lilac must be homozygous to be expressed. It is also recessive to champagne, and cannot appear on a fawn whose parents are both homozygous for champagne (ChCh). On a bred fawn that inherits one copy of champagne (nCh), that gene may be mutated to chLchL.

White Factor (wfwf +/- npt or ptpt +/- nlp or lplp) – white factor create pinto markings (pt), appaloosa marking (lp) or pintaloosa markings (pt + lp). Depending on the expression you want, the pinto and leopard genes can be added or not. When present as wfwf, the phae will not express any pinto or appaloosa genes, as it must have the additional genes to modify the coat.

Watermarked (wawa) – changes the expression of the countershading, fawn and extended dun genes.
